1. About us

These terms and conditions apply to services provided by CITY ELECTRICAL LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales (Companies House number 10372752), with registered address at A M S South Street House, Isleworth, TW7 7AA (referred to as "we", "us" or "the Company").

2. Our services

We provide trade services as described in any written quotation or scope of works agreed with you before work commences. We reserve the right to decline any work that is outside our expertise or would be unsafe to carry out.

3. Quotations and pricing

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated. Prices are exclusive of VAT unless explicitly stated. A written quotation or estimate will be provided before work begins. We reserve the right to revise the price if:

  • The scope of work changes materially from the original description
  • Unforeseen complications arise that could not reasonably have been anticipated
  • Material costs increase significantly between quotation and commencement

4. Payment

Payment terms will be specified on our invoice. We reserve the right to charge statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 on overdue invoices. A deposit may be required for larger jobs.

5. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide safe and reasonable access to the work site
  • Ensure the work area is clear and safe before we arrive
  • Disclose any known hazards (e.g. asbestos, live services) before work begins
  • Obtain any necessary permissions or consents (e.g. planning permission, landlord consent)

6. Liability

We carry public liability insurance. Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out. We are not liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential losses
  • Pre-existing faults or defects not caused by our work
  • Damage resulting from your failure to follow our advice

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

7. Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion. This does not affect your statutory rights. Manufacturer warranties on materials and products are separate and handled directly with the manufacturer.

8. Disputes

We aim to resolve any complaints quickly and fairly. Please contact us in the first instance at matt.finn@cef.co.uk. If we cannot resolve a dispute, it will be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

9. Cancellation

If you are a consumer (not a business), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of agreeing to a service contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Cancellations must be made in writing. If work has already commenced at your request, we may charge for work completed.
